Rep. Carter Appointed to Technology Task Force
Republican House Leader Kevin McCarthy of California recently appointed the Georgia 1st District Congressman to a task force to investigate the impact of the country’s largest tech companies.
US MP Buddy Carter will join other Republicans in the Big Tech, Censorship and Data Taskforce, whose goal is to propose guidelines to combat political bias and anti-competitive practices, and to strengthen consumer privacy.
“Big tech has become little more than a tool for the Washington Democrats to advance their awakened socialist agenda,” Carter said. “From the silence of conservatives to the promotion of democratic narratives around public political debates, the notion of impartiality is taken out of the window on these platforms.
“We need to do more to hold these companies accountable, promote freedom of expression, protect consumers and encourage competition to unleash innovation.”
