(OTCQB: MEEC) (“ME2C Environmental, “or the” Company, “a leading environmental technology company, today announced that it has selected the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences at Pennsylvania State University to assess the Company’s rare earth element technology (REE) capture capacity and regeneration potential The evaluation period starts in June and runs until the end of September 2021.

Currently 80% of REEs are imported from China; and in 2018, the Department of Energy reported that the global demand for rare earth elements was about 150,000 tons and in the US it was 16,500 tons. With the current government’s focus on electric transportation and the upcoming environmental regulations, the company believes the dependency and need for these critical minerals is growing across U.S. infrastructure.
