Health officials report 366 cases of COVID-19 in Illinois, 18 deaths

Health officials reported 366 new confirmed and probable cases of Coronavirus in Illinois Thursday, including 18 other deaths.

The Illinois Department of Health now reports a total of 1,386,628 cases, including 23,014 deaths.

In the past 24 hours, laboratories have reported 42,403 samples for a total of 25,033,919.

As of Wednesday evening, 764 people in Illinois had been reported in the hospital with COVID-19. Of these, 209 patients were in the intensive care unit and 103 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators.

The preliminary seven-day nationwide positivity for percent of total test cases from June 3-9, 2021 is 1.0%. The provisional seven-day nationwide test positive from June 3-9, 2021 is 1.3%.

In addition, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 68% of adults in Illinois have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, and more than 51% of adults in Illinois are fully vaccinated.

A total of 11,821,373 vaccines had been administered in Illinois by midnight. The seven-day moving average of vaccines administered daily is 49,572 doses. Yesterday 62,268 doses were administered in Illinois.
