“I was reading about the chaos of the Silk Road when this all happened and I was intrigued by the payment component they had and it was obviously Bitcoin,” Hawk said when asked when he first encountered Bitcoin. “It had an anonymous page, but it was just the idea that it was very fast and international and for me it was the future of finance, so I immediately did some research on how to buy Bitcoin. I wasn’t on the Silk Road, but I bought “Bitcoin in 2012.”
Hawk said that after discovering and buying Bitcoin, he just stuck with it, but also made a donation to charity.
“I stopped, pretty much. I didn’t do much with it. I was obviously watching it. I stuck to my bitcoin and Charity Water was the first charity I knew would accept bitcoin as a donation, so in my infinite wisdom I gave it four in 2012, “said Hawk.
Hawk stated something about the bitcoin Charity water, a charity that aims to provide access to clean water for those in need.
Hawk recently founded The skate park project, a fund that creates safe and inclusive skate parks in underserved communities. The project is now also accepting Bitcoin donations.
